Online Speech Therapy Anywhere in Connecticut

Our speech-language pathologists are licensed in Connecticut and see patients by secure video from Greenwich to Hartford to the shoreline, as well as in person at our Westport office. For many concerns, telehealth is as effective as in-person therapy, and it removes the drive, the waiting room and the scheduling gymnastics. In-network with Anthem, Cigna and Aetna, which cover telehealth speech therapy the same way they cover office visits.

Who telehealth works well for

Children and teens

School-age children working on speech sounds, language, reading and social communication. Kids who focus better at home than in a new room. Families with two working parents, several children's schedules, or a long drive to any clinic. Teens who would rather not be seen walking into a therapy office.

Adults

Adults recovering language and speech after a stroke or brain injury, who often find travel tiring. Professionals working on voice or stuttering, who can practice in the exact setting they use their voice. Anyone in Connecticut who wants a specialist rather than whoever is closest.

What we offer by telehealth

  • Speech and language evaluations with standardized measures and a written report

  • Articulation and phonological therapy for school-age children

  • Receptive and expressive language, literacy and language-based learning support

  • Voice therapy for adults, singers and professional voice users

  • Stuttering therapy for children, teens and adults

  • Aphasia, cognitive-communication and speech therapy after stroke or brain injury

  • Parent coaching sessions for toddlers and for feeding concerns after an in-person evaluation

How it works

You'll need a laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, a reasonably quiet space, and an internet connection that handles video calls. We send a secure link before each session; there's nothing to install. For children, a parent joins the first session and we'll tell you how involved to be after that. Sessions run the same length as in-person visits, and you'll leave each one with specific practice for the week. Progress notes, reports and invoices live in your online patient portal. If a concern turns out to need hands-on assessment, such as some feeding and swallowing evaluations, we'll say so and arrange an in-person visit at our Westport office.

Insurance, referrals and fees

We are in-network with Anthem, Cigna and Aetna, and Connecticut law requires insurers to cover telehealth speech therapy on the same terms as in-person visits. For other plans, we provide a coded receipt (superbill) for out-of-network reimbursement. You must be physically located in Connecticut during sessions for us to treat you under our state license.
